Comments from Mike Reiffer[Mike was on the support side of the PTFs.]12/10/99 I was stationed on the USS Comstock LSD19 and in 1964 we provided
support for the nasty class boats. We would float the boats on a large
skid and move them into the well deck and transport them to Subic for
maintenance. We were on this operation for about 6 months. Also there is
an osprey would you believe being used by the Sea Scouts at Susiun City
CA. I had a sail boat at the marina there and the Sea Scouts has this big
Osprey. I even went aboard and toured the boat on one of there open
houses. The harbor master Ray Purvis may be able to give more information.
