[ Here is a great post-War adventure on a PTF. Thanks Joe-  Dan ]

Dan,

I served aboard PTF-23 at COSRIVRON 2 in 1974-5 at Little Creek. I have a single picture of her pier side painted in a camouflage scheme that we crudely made; we even painted eyes on either sides of the bow.

I remember that PTF-6, a Nasty, was painted in zebra stripes that year. People in Manhattan thought we were crazy when we pulled into South Street Seaport. We made a trip to Newport, RI that year with Lt. Petitte as CO. Best image of that trip was filling up the lazerette with ice at the fish packing plant and sinking our beer for the ride home.

Best damn duty in the Navy!

Best regards,
